MD of Taber - Invitation to Tender for Lease of Cultivated Land

SE 18-12-18 Sketch Plan


Tenders will be received by the undersigned for the leasing of the following land:

SE 18 – 12 – 18 – W4   (159 Acres Dryland Cultivation)

The Tender is for the rights to lease the SE 18-12-18-W4 for cultivation farming purposes for the 2019 to 2021 crop season (three year lease).

Tender Conditions and Guidelines:

Bidders will be basing their bids on 3 years of total cash rental. A cheque for the first year rent is to be included with the tender (including GST). Cheques from unsuccessful bidders will be returned.

Only tenders from residents of the M.D. of Taber will be accepted.

Subleasing of municipal land is not permitted.

Sealed tenders must be marked “Cultivated Land Lease” with appropriate land description listed.

Sealed tenders will be received at the M.D. of Taber administration office at 4900B-50th Street, Taber, Alberta until 2:00pm February 22nd, 2019.

Public tender opening at 2:05 p.m. on February 22nd, 2019 at the M.D. of Taber office.

Offers will be reviewed by council February 26th, 2019 for final approval. Official notification to the successful bidder will be made following the council meeting.

Tender eligibility conditional on bidder being in good standing with the M.D. of Taber, having no outstanding property tax or utility accounts, bylaw enforcement or compliance orders.

Successful bidders will be required to sign a lease agreement, a copy of which can be viewed at the municipal office during business hours.

The Municipal District of Taber reserves the right to reject any or all tenders.

Lessee will be responsible for paying municipal property taxes. Taxes were $264.36 in 2018.
