The Municipal District of Taber is dedicated to supporting vibrant and thriving communities by providing grant funding to non-profit organizations that deliver recreational services to MD residents. This funding also covers general operating and capital expenses associated with the construction and improvement of recreational facilities and community halls throughout the region.
In addition to recreation grants, the MD of Taber offers assistance to community organizations and projects tailored to the diverse needs of its communities. These efforts are guided by the MD's Operational Grants for Recreation Boards, Towns and Villages Policy, ensuring fair and effective allocation of resources. Each year, during the interim and final budget processes, the MD allocates recreation operating funds to Municipal Recreation Boards, Towns, and Villages responsible for providing municipal recreation services and community programs.
As part of Alberta's Intermunicipal Collaborative Frameworks, the MD of Taber works with neighbouring municipalities to establish agreements on funding and delivering shared services. This collaborative approach not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also strengthens partnerships across municipal boundaries. These frameworks focus on efficient resource use and coordinated efforts to better serve the region. Learn more about the MD’s collaboration agreements.
