Due to the cooler temperatures and higher humidity the Fire Ban in the Municipal District of Taber boundaries has been lifted and a Fire Restriction is now in effect until further notice.
With the Fire Restriction in effect please see the following:
Not Permitted
- Any open fires or camp fires at the Forks or Sherburne Campgrounds.
Permitted
- Pre-inspected and pre-approved field and bale stack fires with the appropriate fire permit.
- Campfires contained in an acceptable fire pit in backyards and campgrounds, including the Enchant Campground, MD of Taber Campground, Lions Campground, Hamlet of Grassy Lake Campground, and Hamlet of Hays Campground.
The Municipal District of Taber will continue to review this situation and consider changes to the Restriction if conditions warrant it. There is no desire to have the Restriction in place for any longer than necessary – the goal is to protect persons, and property, and to reduce excess costs to ratepayers.
The Fire Restriction is in effect as of Tuesday September 27, 2022 until further notice.
