Taber, Alberta — The Municipal District of Taber has completed an LED lighting upgrade at its main administrative office, replacing outdated fluorescent fixtures with high-efficiency LED lights. This change is expected to reduce annual electricity use for lighting by approximately 58%, saving nearly 19,000 kilowatt-hours each year.
“This project reflects the MD’s ongoing commitment to efficient operations and good stewardship of public funds,” said Tamara Miyanaga, Reeve of the Municipal District of Taber. “We’re pleased to implement practical upgrades that deliver long-term value to our ratepayers.”
The project was supported through the Community Energy Conservation Program, administered by the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre—a collaboration between Alberta Municipalities, the Rural Municipalities of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta. Funding for the program was provided by the Government of Alberta.
The MD of Taber appreciates the funding support and continues to explore cost-effective infrastructure improvements that enhance service delivery and facility performance.
